To create an effective and engaging explainer video, you will need to be able to filter down your story down into a simple, easy-to-understand package… trust me it ain’t as easy as it seems. Anyone from your 10-year-old son to your 100-year-old granny should be interested to watch and enjoy.

The video’s structure should be able to get your own business’ point across effectively and importantly that your company comes across as appealing, helpful and relatable to potential clients.

1) Relay your problem… and how you’re the solution to it.

To facilitate empathy, you need to be able to get your viewers to relate to an issue. One common way to do this is by introducing a story in which a character faces the same problem that your customers might indeed be facing. From the very beginning, show them relevance and perspective. By tapping into their inner emotions…. you’re ensuring that they’ll keep watching the video.

2) Explain your company’s value.

This is now your chance to give more details about your products and services….. explain what you do internally. Now that your viewers know you exist, you need to be able to quickly narrow down some of the core and tangible benefits of using your solution that will set them apart from the rest of their competitors. You should consider highlighting just a few key benefits…. that way, you can cover your bases without speaking for ages.

3) End your video with the CALL TO ACTION!

At the end of the video, reiterate the fact that you’ve already solved their problem and offer them a call to action, it could be, “Check out our website!” or “Sign up for our newsletter!” Whatever phrasing you choose, just be sure you make it clear how you can help and how viewers can get in touch with you and learn more about your business.
